German car magazine Auto Bild, Audi is in the process of developing the A9 model which will be their new flagship car. To be based on the A8, the new A9 will be a 2 door coupe and the design would be modern in looks and like. The car is currently under production stage to be available in the market by 2014. The interior of the car also would be highly done up and is expected to be priced at €80,000. The car measures 5 meters by length and there would be a cabriolet variant of the car on offer as well. Reports in 2011 had it that since both Lamborghini and Audi were of the VW Group the Audi A9 would be developed in line with the Estoque from Lamborghini.
The A9 then had been reported to be coming as a four door coupe model. It was supposed to give competition to the Mercedes-Benz CLS and the Porsche Panamera as the reports had then stated. There is yet no finality on the body style that the Audi A9 would take on, but there is high probability of the A9 coming in an aluminum space frame similar to that of the A8. The main components would be sourced from the MLB architecture
Porsche 918 Spyder Hybrid Supercar price announced, will be Porsche’s costliest car till date

Porsche 918 Spyder is to be the plug-in hybrid model from the Stuttgart automaker. The car has yet a couple of years to go before it turns into a reality. However, that hasn’t stopped the car maker from coming up with the price details of the car. And with that done, Porsche is already started with what can be termed as the next logical step – accepting pre-orders for the car.
For the US market the price has been set at $845,000 which at current conversion rates is equivalent to €598,000. For the European market, the car is priced at €645,000 which converts to $911,400. This cost does not include handling and destination charges as also VAT as would be applicable by region. Makes this the costliest car as on date.
The company however is offering the rights to purchase their new special edition version of the 911 Turbo S Series for those who place orders for the 918 Spyder now.
The Zuffenhausen plant in Germany that belongs to Porsche is the site where production of the 918 Spyder would commence from the 18th of September 2013. There would be just 918 units of the model made and delivery would be affected as per roster of order received.
The concept version of this car had been put up on display at the Geneva Motor Show and the production model is also expected to be near about on the same lines. There is however the full open top idea that is being shelved to be replaced with a manual roof system. There would be provision to stow the roof panels in the front luggage compartment. There is also the addition of exterior mirrors and there are no side exhaust tail pipes visible in the production design sketch
I Want That! Tron-Themed Audi R8

What we have here is a chrome-plated Tron-themed Audi R8, engineered by Pimp My Ride vehicular tricksters West Coast Customs, which (we imagine) is (probably) faster than a lightcycle. This version of the R8, however, isn’t quite so subtle — with glowing rims, glowing vents, a glowing back seat and a chrome finish so perfectly reflective that you can check your hair and makeup in the car’s bonnet. All the glowing bits gradually fade through a series of colours too, for added Tron-style excellence. This thing would be perfect cruising the streets of South Beach surrounded by neons and hot babes flocking, yea my 1992 Taurus will have to do until I get this thing.
Porsche might come up with a Ferrari 458 competitor

Spyder would have a price tag of $845,000 and that would make it the costliest car ever to be sold by Porsche, something that the company had confirmed only recently. There is talk now though that Porsche have some change in mind and they plan to come out with some mid engine supercar in order to compete with the Ferrari 458 Italia and the McLaren MP4-12C. The change of plans is at the moment waiting Volkswagen’s approval.
Mathias Muller, boss of Porsche said, “We’re looking to extend the range. We’ve got an idea to do another mid-engine model. We’re thinking above the 911 but below the 918 Spyder. We have ideas on styling and design, which we will continue to develop in the coming months. We’ll also evaluate the economic side and then decide.”
The new model if built would come in both the roadster as well as coupe version. Price of the car would be pegged at $275,000. In order to get performance enhancement by lowering of weight the car maybe built mostly with carbon fiber reinforced plastic.
In order for the car to give competition to the Ferrari there would be necessity for the car to have at least 550 to 600 HP under its hood. This is so as the 458 Italia has performance figures of 570 HP and 398 lb-ft of torque. The engine on the Italia is the 4,499 cc V8 engine and the MP4-12 car has the 3,800 cc twin turbo engine which gives 592 hp and 443 lb ft torque. Porsche has the 3,600 cc 620 hp water cooled twin turbo flat six that is fitted on its Porsche 911 GT2 RS.
